a participatory project in the public sphere

September 11 to March 9, 2017

ONCE UPON A TIME (SHIP TOTEM) - MARKO REMEC

A SHIP FOR TOLERANCE

A wooden ship, about 65 feet long and 18 feet wide, a mast height of 36 feet. Mounted on a raft, it will be shown on Lake Zug. The sail consists of 120 elements, each individually painted by students.

With the Ship of Tolerance by Ilya and Emila Kabakov, the Kunsthaus Zug invites the public to deal with the issue of tolerance. Consequently, it makes an artistic contribution to a current social issue. The participation-project allows to experience tolerance and respect through common action with others.

The presentation starts on September 10, 2016 with the inauguration of the ship.
